Wrigley’s Valentines

Wrigley’s Valentines

February 10, 2010 in Product Reviews, Random, family

Door Hanger ValentineOver the Christmas Holidays I was sent some Wrigley’s gum packages to create homemade ornaments.  The directions showed a very cute craft.  Unfortunately during the Holidays I took a two week hiatus for personal reasons and wasn’t able to make these.  So I saved the project and created them for Valentine’s Day.  Instead of ornaments for a tree I made Valentine ornaments to hang on my girls’ bedroom doors.  They also look great on a package as decor.

How to create your own Wrigley’s Valentines

You will need:

  • Assorted packs of Wrigley’s stick gum  (5 Flare®, Cobalt® and Rain® & Doublemint® and Winterfresh®) (foil wrappers, box)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Small craft paintbrush
  • ribbon for hanging

Instructions

  • Tie the ribbon on by placing it under the box lid before closing it
  • Choose the color you prefer and cover the outside of your empty gum box with gum foil, gluing well at seams. You may wish to cut serrated edge from foil before gluing.
  • Once box is completely covered, use scissors to cut a design from foil. {I made hearts and letters}
  • Once your design is ready, use paintbrush to glue to box front. You may wish to add additional foil features on top of the original shape.  {I placed a T for my daughter’s initial inside the heart}
  • Add your custom note or photos then hang on their door. {I wrote a note on small piece of paper and glued to back}

These were so fun to make and the girls love them!  They make the perfect little Valentine to give with a personal twist.

Hi there! We met at the Band of Bloggers breakfast at Blissdom – it was so nice to get to meet other moms working with Sprout.

These are so cute!
