It’s summertime, which means the kids are eating all of their meals at home instead of school. Since I work out of a home office I try to get creative with simple meal solutions so they are equipped with the ability to help out in the kitchen while not eating the same thing each day. We loved putting together this delicious Strawberry Crunch Yogurt Parfait for a fast, yet filling, breakfast option.
While shopping at Kroger we picked up the new General Mills cereal – Tiny Toast in both new flavors, Blueberry and Strawberry. My son is a strawberry fan, whereas my teen daughter loves blueberry. It was an easy solution for quick breakfast and even doubles as a yummy snack.
Strawberry Crunch Yogurt Parfait Ingredients
- Strawberry Tiny Toast Cereal
- Vanilla Yogurt
- Fresh Strawberries
We used vanilla yogurt in our parfaits but you can get use whichever flavor your heart desires. Or keep it simple with plain yogurt and a dash of honey for sweetness. In my parfait I even use dairy-free coconut yogurt so it is lighter on my stomach.
I let the kids dish up their own parfaits by pouring the contents in small bowls. This way they can add as much or as little of each ingredient as they wish.
By layering the ingredients in your parfait, each spoonful is filled with all the goodness, without the need to dig around in your glass. We started with the yogurt down first.
Then we tossed in a couple of strawberries. You can dice them up if your kids are younger.
The Tiny Toast cereal has no artificial flavors, no colors from artificial sources and no high-fructose corn syrup – making it the perfect breakfast addition.
Toss a handful of the Tiny Toast cereal on top. Now do the same process a second time to make double layers. We layered our ingredients in a mason jar, but you can also make a yogurt parfait bowl or smoothie bowl with the crunchy cereal on top.
Strawberry Crunch Yogurt Parfait
Noah was very happy with his crunchy strawberry yogurt parfait. It is a nice switch up from his daily morning cereal or plain yogurt with fruit. He was able to mix the three things he loves the most: strawberries, yogurt and cereal. Tiny Toast cereal is the perfect bite size for carrying on the go in a snack size baggie.
This cereal, with only 9 grams of sugar, is free of mom-guilt and kids love it. There is real strawberry or blueberry flavor in every piece.
How do you eat your cereal?
