Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Blu-Ray

{Tapanga, age 6, with Snow White}

When my oldest daughter was 6 we celebrated her birthday on a Disney cruise. We love all things Disney. My mom collected all the Disney movies when I was growing up and still does to this day, so Disney has always been a part of my life. Although my oldest is 12 years old now, she still loves Disney, especially for Hannah Montana and other pre-teen shows.

We were blessed with a Make-a-Wish trip for Gabby to Disney World. There she got to meet several of the characters that are dear to her heart. She loves the Disney Princesses and unfortunately she didn’t get to meet Snow White there but she has heard the story many times.

When we heard the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs movie was coming out this Tuesday for a Diamond Edition including Blu-Ray we were excited.  Of course Gabby wanted the movie right away.  Our HP TouchSmart has a built in Blu-Ray DVD player so Gabby has watched Disney movies on it before and we are very well aware of the differences in clarity.  My parents rave about their Blu-Ray DVD player all the time as well.  I am hoping by Christmas we can get a new Blu-Ray DVD player for the living room.

Highlights about Blu-ray discs and players:

  • Up to 6x better quality than DVD
  • 7.1 Surround Sound
  • Immersive activity with games and special features
  • Kid proof-more scratch resistant (hallelujah!)
  • Plays both Blu-ray and DVD discs
  • Blu-ray also plays on Sony Playstation 3 players

I can not wait to share the new Blu-Ray edition with my girls.  They already love the true classic of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  It was wonderful how it brought back memories for T and I of our cruise over six years ago.  Gab reads her Princess book she got from Disney World nightly and we are trying real hard to make it on a Disney cruise in January while they have the special kids cruise free promotion.  Gabby really hopes to meet all the Princesses then.  Especially the one she has never met, Snow White.

To help kick off promotion of this new Diamond Edition One 2 One Network has supplied me with a Seven Dwarf Plush Set DVD Combo Pack to giveaway to one lucky reader.

I took my son 3-4 times a year when he was young and we would get a hotel room so we could stay for days and go back and forth when tired. Mini vacations all of the time!!

I went to the magic kingdom for the first time when I was pregnant with my son. My husband picked out a Thumper for our baby because he had one when he was little. It was such an exciting time and such a sweet memory every time I see my son with his Thumper.

My favorite disney memory is riding splash mountain. I didn’t want to go on and my mom made me after the long wait. I’m glad that she did because the look on my face on the picture going down was priceless. After the ride I wanted to go back on it again.

I remember watching the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights at 7:00. We waited all week. Of course the Original Mickey Mouse Club in black and white with Annette Funicello and the gang. Fess Parker in Davy Crockett, also in black and white. I had a GIANT crush on Fess for a long time.

Our best Disney memory is a recent one we got to go see Disney on Ice 100 years of magic. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen and my little girl was so amazed with it all that even weeks later she still cant quit talking about it all. We dont realize how fast time goes and how quick our children grow up but to me disney has always been that one thing that takes me back to my childhood and I act like a kid again and I only wish I can pass that on to my little girl:)

Oh, my favorite has to be watching Swiss Family Robinson on one of those Sunday night Disney specials… back in the 80’s when they had a weekly Disney movie. It was a family tradition to watch the movie of the week.

I have never been to Disney World. or Land. But, my husband and I are already making plans to take our 3 yr old daughter in about 2 years. It will be a delight for her, and for me as well! I have already started a collection of Disney DVDs for her, as we collected all the VHS tapes when I was younger. My favorite movie is beauty & the Beast, but my favorite Disney soundtrack is The Little Mermaid, with my favorite song being “Kiss the Girl” Thanks for the chance to win in this giveaway!
