Annie of MamaDweeb.com wanted to share with you one of her passions, savings accounts. Please share in the comments what your experience with Savings Accounts is!
When I was a little girl, my mother opened up a savings account for me. Instead of receiving cash for my allowance, she took me to the bank and we put that money into my account. I remember how thrilling it was to watch the numbers go up and up with every little addition!
That is what started me on a lifetime love of saving money.
Many people create resolutions to open savings accounts to save for a rainy day. This is such an important decision. Stuff happens – leaky roof, flat tire, sick days. Having money in a safe and secure account that earns interest helps make those times manageable instead of overwhelming.
And some banks make it easy to save! Some have the option of rounding your purchases up to the next whole dollar and putting the extra into your savings account. Another idea I love is automatically taking a per centage of every paycheck and putting it into savings before I pay a single bill.
What are your thoughts about saving money?

I am bad about saving because I do not really have any extra to save, it’s a constant income battle while working from home and raising three kids. I do hope to start focusing on saving even as little as $1 a week to start until next School Year when all three kids are in school full time and I can focus on increasing my work load more.
