I was a single mom for many years. I also went without medical insurance for almost as long. Leaving the corporate world to work out of a home office was imperative to be available to my children, unfortunately it made having health insurance a challenge. What I would have given to have PediaQ be available back then!
I remember when my daughter would get sick or I was nervous about questionable health issues late at night and unsure what to do. My oldest wasn’t quite old enough to stay home and watch her sister while I ran to the store to pick up medicine. She wasn’t even old enough to stay home alone while I took her sister to urgent care. The options were very limited back then. I either dragged them both out of bed and to the urgent care center/ER that was filled with sick kiddos spreading germs or I called around on the hunt for someone to help me. Living in another town away from family didn’t make it easy to find support.
PediaQ is an app that is now available to parents with a few simple clicks. It’s amazing, honestly! By using the app parents are connected with the highest quality pediatric nurse practitioners right in their home. My favorite part of this process is the fact you get to avoid going to an urgent care center that is filled with so many germs that you are bound to get sick while trying to help your child get better. PediaQ is there when your child’s pediatrician can’t be – after hours between 4pm-8am Monday thru Friday and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, house calls!
All of your child’s medical information is safe and secure while also being available to your child’s pediatrician. No need to switch doctors – PediaQ is just a useful tool to save parents from visiting an urgent care after hours and not meant to replace your regular pediatric doctor needs.
When using the app you are able to read the reviews and information on the pediatric nurse practitioners in your area. So no surprise arrivals at your front door. You know exactly who will be working with your child. I am excited that the DFW area is covered in the new launch. On May 1st PediaQ launched in Frisco and Plano with the goal of becoming the ‘Uber‘ of On-Demand Pediatric Urgent Care.
Most co-pays for an ER visit or after hours urgent care is pretty costly. To use PediaQ and have a nurse practitioner see your sick little one in the comfort of your own home is only $150. Not bad at all if you ask me. We pay $100 to go to the ER and be surrounded by germs and wait HOURS to be seen, with insurance.
If you want to download the free PediaQ app today and use it for your next urgent care needs – you can save $50 on your first visit by using code PDQ15.
Full Disclosure: I was compensated for my time sharing this new app with you. However, all opinions are 100% my own and I will use this for my own children’s urgent care needs in the future. As always, I only share things I believe in on my blog.
