Being a single mom I have spent most of my years living in either an apartment, duplex or town home. None of which have a yard or if so only have a small area that you must share with others. This past November the kids and I finally moved into a house. Thank goodness! The best part is we now have a yard not only in the front but the backyard is a nice size too. My kids love being outdoors. I enjoy it as well but my love for movies and internet can easily distract me indoors all day. Now that we have our own yard/space to play in we have grown to have a better appreciation for it.
We were recently given the opportunity to review the Super Soaker Quick Blast {see video below} and the kids loved it. Well my son who is not quite three yet wouldn’t put it down. My first thoughts were “I’m going to have one hay day soaking my kids!” Why I actually thought I would even get my hands on it I’m not sure… The girls were given water guns by my grandma for Easter and we sure had fun playing with all the family then. So two nights ago was the perfect time to pull those back out again. Of course their water guns did not compare to the huge
Super Soaker that my 2 year old was using. The video cracks me up because the toy is so large it really isn’t made for his size but he was determined to keep up with the big kids and prove he COULD do it! Plus isn’t it strange how a child automatically assumes that when a new toy arrives and they are the first to see it then it must belong to them?!
I was recently introduced to the site Time To Play found at timetoplaymag.com when recommended by Amy {Resourceful Mommy} from Momfluence. I just love this site. You can find all kinds of toys and reviews, even demonstrations of toys to see if you would really enjoy it for your kids. On the site you can link to their blog or hear what the toy expert The Toy Guy
says. Getting outside to play with my kids, even though I ended up wet, was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to have more opportunities this summer outdoors in our new backyard.
By the way did you know that this year the Super Soaker celebrates its 20th anniversary? That’s amazing for a toy to be around that long and continuously get better. I will admit Noah’s Super Soaker held a lot more water than the girls’ skinny water guns. My oldest was so jealous she just started using the water hose. I know we’ll be at the store soon buying more for them to water fight with. Plus, come on, Mom HAS to have one too!

That is too cute, I am going to have to get something off of their site for the kids this summer. I love the 3-d Shark Slide . Congratulations on your house!
