How to Make Geometric Art With Kids

Last Saturday the girls and I attended one of the local Shine On events at the GapKids Store. I was impressed with how nice their paintings turned out. They really enjoyed taking part in the easy to follow instructions for their DIY project.

The staff was very friendly and energetic to assist the kids. Each child selected four colors of paint, received their canvas and a roll of masking tape.

The instructions were simple. You created a design on your canvas by taping lines across the canvas in all directions. Leaving various sizes of white space on the canvas to paint.

Some of the paint was matte finish and some colors had a nice glitter touch to them. The beauty of the projects was seeing the creativeness and how no two paintings looked the same.

Gabby looks forward to the day we do the project again at home.

I know this easy craft is something we will do together as family again and I know Noah will love it. T has always enjoyed painting and often creates canvases at home. This project was mess free too.

You can’t beat the fact it’s a free event. Don’t miss out on attending the next two Saturdays to encourage creativity in your kids. If you are located in DFW visit one of the locations below, otherwise check with your local GapKids Stores for Shine On events in your area.
