If you read my Bloggy Bling post which listed 10 honest things about myself, you would know I absolutely LOVE live music. I really love music where you can truly hear the musician playing their instrument. Being a person with little, okay okay, NO talent when it comes to singing or playing an instrument I am completely amazed by someone who can do both!
When I was blessed with two tickets to see Diane Birch, I was ecstatic. I knew I planned to blog about the experience so I thought the perfect person to take along would be my sister who is fairly new to the blogosphere. As most of you know, I hardly ever take a Girls Night Out so this was GREAT!
If you have ever heard live music compared to music recorded in a studio you can relate to the fact it usually doesn’t sound the same. Most music recorded in a studio sounds fresh and sharp with no background noise and sometimes live music, although the best, might not sound the same. Sometimes the instruments live can overpower the vocals or the crowd can wash out the words. The concert at the Granda Theater was not
this way. When Diane Birch walked out on stage and took control of the audience immediately, I was blown away. Her piano skills were brilliant and her voice touched the soul. Prior to attending the concert I listened to Diane Birch’s music on her MySpace Music profile. I knew right away I would enjoy the concert but the word ‘enjoyed
‘ just doesn’t say enough. This night was just a reminder of how much more I like live music compared to recorded. Diane Birch is releasing her debut album on May 19th which will include all the wonderful songs I was so blessed to see her perform and sing live.
Another great perk at the beginning of the night was getting the chance to meet a fellow twitter pal, Erica Mueller . I had no idea that Erica was attending the concert until she walked up to me and introduced herself. I must admit I was caught off guard but knew quickly exactly who she was. Funny how you can tweet with someone and even read their blog yet not even realize you are within driving distance of them. It is so great to meet a virtual friend in real life. Unfortunately her and her hubby had to sit a distance from us but that didn’t stop us from saying hello and live tweeting in-between songs. Erica also blogged about her experience at the concert and an incident I forgot to mention about the difficulty getting in the doors of the Granada Theater. Head over to her blog to read more…
I want to take a moment and thank One2One Network for the amazing opportunity to see such amazing music. Barbara Jones; you sure know how to find some of the best musicians! Arianne
; thanks for the invite and making me a part!

Glad you had a great time out. We all need that girls night out once in a while. I have never been to a concert, but I am hoping to go one of these days, I am going to go check out Diane Birch’s music now.

You are one lucky girl! A concert and a girls night out…I wouldn’t know what to do with myself! I have never been to a concert either. This year I will look into it. Though, I have no particular artist in my.

I’m still singing songs from that night! It was just so great!
We hardly ever get to enjoy concerts nowadays. Hubs and I used to work with a local concert promotion group, but most of the time it was work work work and not so much enjoyment. I like it when someone else does the work. haha
Can’t wait to see you again!
What a great review! I enjoyed reading this and you are so lucky!!!
