My family and I usually visit the Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus each year in Fort Worth. This year was a little different since the DFW Chix decided to go together. We all attended the circus at the American Airlines Center, a venue I had visited before for other events.
Unfortunately Noah got sick that morning and wasn’t able to go with us. He stayed home with his Daddy instead. It was actually his father’s day but I had scheduled with him to take Noah along. I knew he would love it. Another fun thing I had scheduled with him first in mind was to ride the train from Haltom City to Dallas. The train literally drops you off right at the American Airlines Center, which is not only
convenient and easy but fun for kids. So since Noah wasn’t able to make it, my nephew jumped on the chance to go in his place. Tyler had never been to a circus before and it was a pleasure being able to experience his first show. He was amazed at the acts.
My mom went along to help me chaperone the three children. On the train ride I must say all of the kids had fun. I had only riden the train once myself, my nephew had riden it a few times to basketball games but it was my mom and girls’ first time. I believe Donna was on the same train, we just weren’t aware of it until afterwards. Hollie didn’t make it to the train stop on time to ride with us but her and her family did ride next to us on the way home. I promised Gab that we will plan another trip now that Noah is better. She wanted her bubba to ride too, just not sure where the next ride will take us.
The circus was fun. We arrived early enough to interact in the pre-show. The kids tried on dress-up clothes, took photos with different characters and of course we all put on clown noses. I just couldn’t help myself! Hollie and Donna sat with their families in the same section as us but Alyssa, Amy, Rachel, Steph and Susan were placed elsewhere. We of course tweeted and texted with each other but unfortunately didn’t meet up. The event was so large with lots of people and we had to get right back to the train stop for our ride home.
T’s favorite part of the circus was the men bouncing on the rubber looking tires, Gab loved this too. Of course Tyler being a boy and all, he sure loved the part where the motorcycles rode around inside the ball, scary dangerous if you ask me. It actually made me nervous watching 7 of them riding around inside there together. T’s favorite animals are the elephants so she enjoyed this too and Tyler was excited to see the trapeze artists in person. I love tigers yet none of them jumped through flamming hoops this time. Wonder why? I did notice this circus had a lot more side acts. The ring master was more involved than I remember last and there was singing and dancing that I didn’t recall from past shows. The ending was like a Cirque Du Soleil show which although was different I loved it.

Thank you to Lauren Sleeper from Mom Central for the tickets and program. The kids and I appreciate it!
