Our Disney Cruise is coming up soon.  I am so excited yet a little overwhelmed at all the things that need to be done in order to prepare for leaving.  The kids are ecstatic though and I believe Gabby and Noah are ready, with mostly all clothing prepared to pack and everything.  They might lack a few last minute items.  However I always take care of myself last, don’t all mothers? Yesterday I started trying on my summer clothes from last year and well… let’s just say they didn’t fit.  After trying them on I realized I would need to do some shopping, of course after realizing how much weight I have gained in the past year I should be shopping for exercise clothes but the cruise is only a week away so no time for diet yet.

T has grown over the past year and knew she would need some last minute clothing as well so we decided to take an evening outing to see what we could find.  T has the tendency to always wear loungewear because it is more comfortable to her.  She is very sporty and making her be a little girlie isn’t easy.  However I was able to manage to get her some new denim capris that look very cute with some tops she previously owned and then I gave in and bought her another pair of lounge capris that she really liked.

I created a Whrrl story with the photos of our new choices that we got at Plato’s Closet in the women’s clothing section.  I really like this store, just started visiting there over the past few months and although the items are slightly used everything is in perfect condition and just a fraction of the price.  We still have a little more shopping to do over the next week, including swim suit shopping.  Yuck.

Check out our story and let me know what you think.  Which are your favorites?

When Gabby’s seizures started becoming daily and her moods changed right along with them, I needed all the advice I could get.  She not only started suffering from Mood Disorder and ADHD but she just became angry altogether.  Of course who wouldn’t be angry after all the hospital stays, surgeries, 13 IVs in one visit, list goes on and on?! I took several Parenting classes while Gabby was in the hospital.  I took Love and Logic, 1 2 3 Magic and I watched a few other videos that the hospital staff offered.  I learned lots of great tips from each class and video.  After raising one child and then having another that is completely different, it truly threw me off.  I was able to experience first hand that what works with one child doesn’t necessarily work with the next.

I recently have been reviewing the Total Transformation Program.  When I first started I watched the intro DVD which made me even more excited to jump in.  The DVD showed other parents talking about their kids and giving their testimonies of what they learned from the program.  Hearing their stories really hit home because some of the things they said were exactly the same words I have heard come out of my own mouth before.  Before starting the first level I took the pre-test in the workbook.  I was sure that my answers were going to be the same after I listened to the first audio CD.  To my surprised I actually started learning new tips and was given a different view after just one level.  When returning to the workbook to complete the first section and taking the test again, my answers were different. Wii Fit Plus

Image via Wikipedia

For my birthday I bought myself the Wii Fit Plus.  I already owned the Wii Fit and used to use it regularly.  I have just got out of the habit of working out from home and knew I needed to start back up.  Rachel told me at Mom 2.0 Summit how she had let her Wii Fit sit for nearly 8 months without playing and then bought the Plus and hadn’t stopped since.  At the time she had already lost 15 pounds, which is great!

The girls and I participate in several 5Ks in the Spring and since the first one is coming up this month I thought it was about time I get into shape.  Or maybe the better statement is start working towards getting into shape.  Also I’d love to look better by mid April when we go on our Disney cruise.  It’d be nice to tone up some.

Tonight was my 8th night doing the Wii Fit Plus.  I am so sore I can hardly lift my arms.  I haven’t done it every night since my birthday but most of them.  The kids are enjoying it too.  Matter of fact Noah just got done jogging which is so dang cute and Gabby did the Hula Hoop which is wonderful for her physical therapy.  It truly helps her with coordination.   We have done quite a bit of multiple-player mode games as a family.  The chicken game is hilarious but fun.  We spend most of the time laughing at one another while we are working out.  The whole game system is so fun you forget you are actually burning calories.  I must admit I love it and it is addicting.  The obstacle course is my favorite although I have a hard time stopping to admit defeat.  I keep pressing retry until I’m about to fall over, some nights.  However I have almost mastered the advanced level now!

We are walking in the Make-a-Wish Foundation 5K on March 27th in Gabby’s honor.  If you live local to the DFW area we would love for you to join our Team Gabby and walk with us.

Full Disclosure: I purchased the Wii, Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus with my own money.  This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are 100% mine that I wanted to share.

BlissDom'09, Blissfully Domestic, BlissDom Conference, Pajama Party

Day One at BlissDom ‘09 is officially complete. I can’t express how wonderful it has been to meet everyone. I took a ton of photos as well as videos and plan to post soon. The photos I took on my digital camera I can not upload until Sunday night when I get back home because I forgot my adapter. Sorry, guys… However I did upload a pic of myself wearing my awesome BlissDom ‘09 shirt from the pajama party that I took with my iPhone. Also if you want to see short clips throughout the weekend watch on twitter and my 12seconds.tv

channel. I am trying to post periodically to keep everyone up to date.

I am headed to bed to try and get some shut eye before another early start tomorrow. Will try to post again tomorrow evening.

I know today was all about the Super Bowl Buzz. To be honest I am not a huge football fan, I know – shame on me. Plus it’s not like my state went to the Super Bowl or anything… However, I do like to watch the commercials. Although I must admit the past couple of years I wasn’t as impressed as I used to be. I watched as many commercials this time as I could while caring for children but there was one commercial that stood out the most. Did you see the Jack in the Box commercial where Jack got hit by the bus? At the end of the commercial they posted a web site link which of course struck my curiosity, apparently like many others from the speed of the site. They created a whole blog along with You Tube

account just to go along with this one commercial. Now that is dedication. The thing I didn’t understand was why would they show Jack being hit by a bus with his head literally cracking? I personally thought it was a little disturbing for kids to see but it also left me wondering what it meant. Was that the point of the commercial, to leave you wondering? My first reaction was that the bus symbolizes the economy and Jack was suffering as the economy crashes… Does that sound right? The first thing I said was, “is Jack in the Box going bankrupt?” Once visiting the web site/blog

that they set up I couldn’t gather any more information then what I saw in the commercial. There were over 300 comments left by various people. So, readers, tell me… did you see this commercial? If not go view it over on You Tube and tell me what you thought. I am curious to hear what other views are on this. Is the economy suffering so bad that even fast food restaurants are ‘crashing’ and creating commercials to display their hurt? If Jack in the Box fast food restaurant is not hurting economically then is it just entertaining to see Jack get hit by a bus? I am curious to know what is the real point? Also if you are concerned, on their blog they even list ways to send Get Well Wishes to Jack, along with places to upload your own videos wishing him well or a way to sign up for text message alerts letting you know Jack’s update. By the way Jack in the Box is on twitter and facebook too. Am I the only one that thinks this is far fetch?
