Let Me Call You Sweetheart Blog Hop

Let Me Call You Sweetheart Blog Hop

February 4, 2010 in Random, meme

Last week while doing my Entrecard drops I stumbled upon The Frugal Housewife’s blog and saw she was planning a Valentine’s Day theme blog hop.  I opted to join in and then I completely forgot the date to publish was today.  Yesterday she sent out a reminder which refreshed my memory.  I literally was up until 1 AM last night preparing for the Blissdom drive and was on the road by 5:30 AM today, drove 12 hours and here it is nearly midnight and I’m just now sitting down in the hotel room.  Less than four hours of sleep in the past 24 hours is just not cutting it.  I’m exhausted.  Although I am having such a wonderful time here at Blissdom, reuniting with some old friends that I met last year and meeting some new ones.  Seeing all the wonderful women that I tweet with daily.  I just love these conferences!

So for the blog hop we were suppose to discuss what we have planned for Valentine’s Day.  I am single and therefore don’t have any romance planned.  However, I shared a craft idea last week that I’ve done with my son and plan to do with Gabby after her school party.  So cute, you should check it out!  And I will say that if I wasn’t single then to me Valentine’s Day is a day to show you care and the true way to show that to me is more with quality time, romance and even something simple.  I’d rather have my man cook dinner for me, pamper me and put some thought into a gift if he gets one.  No chocolates or generic Valentine’s Day gifts.  To me it’s not just a Hallmark holiday.  Keep it simple yet meaningful.  Also ladies, don’t forget men like these things too so feel free to light the candles and cook dinner.  Sometimes they like to just relax and enjoy your company after work.

Don’t forget to go visit The Frugal Housewife to see where the Blog Hop started and the next blog in line is It’s A Hooah Life.  Go check her out and see what she has planned for Valentine’s Day.  She is a blogger who is adjusting to life as a military wife and therefore might just be spending the holiday the same way as I am.
